Xbox Live Games With Gold For December 2018

Thanksgiving has passed and a new month is upon us so you know what that means, another month filled with four free games for us Xbox Live Gold users. The first Xbox One game we will receive this month is Q.U.B.E 2 which will be available all month and retails for $24.99 usually. The second Xbox One game that is available the second half of the month is Never Alone, this game retails for $14.99. As always we also have two Xbox 360 games for free this month, the first game available the first half of the month is Dragon Age II, this game retails for $9.99. The second half of the month we will have access to Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction which is actually an original Xbox game and retails for $9.99.

The first game we will discuss is Q.U.B.E. 2, I have actually never heard of this game but after reading up on it I am definitely intrigued. This game is a sequel to the game Q.U.B.E and is the puzzle category, it is also rated E for everyone so it can be fun for everyone at home. In this game you play a character who is an archaeologist who wakes up in a foreign and ruinous land filled with puzzles and thought-provoking situations, she must solve these puzzles and find her way home. This game seems similar to the style of the Portal game series which I loved so I am going to download this for sure. If you love puzzle games that are immersive download this for sure.

The next game is Never Alone, which I have heard of but have never played. This game is a puzzle platformer that is playable with one or two players. The first think that stuck out to me was the artistic style of the game, it really does a great job of portraying the beautiful Alaskan winter scene. As you traverse the game seeking the source of the eternal blizzard you also get to learn about the native Alaskan Iñupiat people. This game seems like a good game to just enjoy for the art itself. It is rated T for teen for Violence so check it out to see if it works for your family.

Dragon Age II is a game I played years ago on the Xbox 360 This game is rated M for mature so it is not family friendly but it is a fun game to play. This game is an action adventure role playing game that takes place in the age of dragons. It is a fun RPG so if you haven’t played this one give it a try especially since it is free. I most likely will download this just to have incase I get bored and have nothing else to play.

The last game is Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, I have never played this game but I have heard of the series. This game was developed by LucasArts and since I do not know anything about it here is what Microsoft has to say: “Anything goes in this Playground of Destruction. You are a lethal Mercenary. Your mission is to topple a sinister military regime by any means necessary. If it drives or flies, you can hijack it. If it shoots or explodes, you can use it as a weapon. You are free to go anywhere, destroy anything and blow the crap out of everything. In this playground of destruction, there are no limits, no barriers and no mercy.” This seems like it could be a fun game but I probably wont get around to it just because it is old and doesn’t support online games.

Overall we have some alright games this month, I am looking forward to playing Q.U.B.E 2 the most. I think last month was better in my opinion but hopefully we get some great games next month. Stay Tuned!
